Background Diabetic sarcopenia arises from metabolic imbalance-induced ROS accumulation and oxidative stress, which exacerbate muscle degeneration. Typically, autophagy removes excessive ROS and damaged organelles, helping to limit oxidative stress and preserve skeletal muscle function.
